Paths we have made

Mason is the designer and chief worker; I supplied some labour - and from time to time supervision and management! Greg Hanson helped Mason with the path past the woodpile. The pebbles on this path are beautiful river stones - greens and greys. The watertank path doesn't show up so well in the photo. It too is made of dark grey flagstones but surrounded with grey gravel.
We are waiting hopefully for the grass to grow. Spring is arriving slowly - the grass is starting to move. We know now that once it starts, it will romp to thigh high by early December. The only tree with any leaves is Liriodendron tulipifera - the winner of last year's award for the first one out.
Work is about to start on the fence that will be the backbone of the food hedge - Shaun Magner, one of our neighbours is to build it. We have been accumulating the residents - white, red and black currants, elderberry, raspberry, feijoa, NZ guava/cranberry, hazelnuts, goji berry, blackberry.
